If I had to name one place
that I can’t get enough of… it would have to be Yellowstone National Park. Before 2000 I couldn’t
care less about the first national park, I couldn’t even point it out on the U.S. map, but after being convinced to
take a summer off from working at Subway and getting a job in Yellowstone my mind very quickly changed about the beautiful
landscapes and animals that inhabit the astonishing scenery. Being an employee of the park for more than one summer
and living in the park and experiencing things that most people who haven’t worked there could only dream of…
Yellowstone is a place I often think about.
I’ve seen multiple documentaries on
the national park, Yellowstone: Battle for Life is far superior than any other I’ve seen. Going through
the three seasons that the park sees each year: Summer, Autumn, and Winter - Yellowstone: Battle for Life takes you into the
park to see the struggles and tribulations that each and every animal goes through as the seasons come and go. The documentary
is filmed and voiced beautifully; the best camera work I’ve seen of Yellowstone. This documentary does run long,
but every second is extremely fascinating and educational for people of all ages. One drawback is the fact that each
season is its own documentary, you can watch them together, but there are segments that discuss the same topic – so
you’ll hear some of the facts three times if you watch each segment together as a whole.
The bottom line; Yellowstone: Battle for Life is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen of Yellowstone or any other
national park.
