In 1973 Hanna-Barbera introduced the Super Friends
to the world, a highly successful and remembered show that lasted until 1985 (With different names of course). In the
fall of 1985 they decided to drop the "Super Friends" name and go with: The Super Powers Team, which brings us to
this DVD collection featuring the original Super Friends cast and two new teen members: Cyborg and Firestorm. I'm glad they dropped the Super
Friends theme and name, it was a great show but it can be a little cheesy or childish ... and the Super Powers Team was a
little more serious and believable. It also included better storylines including the first time Batman's origin
appeared anywhere else rather than the comic. Battling foes such as Lex Luthor, Scarecrow, and Darkseid - this was a
great addition to the Super Friends family.
All good things have to come to an end, and that meant that when this show was cancelled in 1986 Hanna-Barbera's
twelve year run on the Super Friends came to a halt. A sad moment for all us "fan-boys", but we can all remember
the great times we had watching these shows and reminisce with this 2-disc DVD set.
