Nickelback / Hoobastank / Chevelle / Hinder
(BJCC - Birmingham, AL)
September 1, 2006

Hinder, Chevelle, Hoobastank, and Nickelback – a concert that shouldn’t be missed.  Hinder hit the stage first, they surprisingly had a very strong fan base here in Birmingham, Alabama for being a relatively new band.  Fans were singing along, raising hands, and doing whatever they could to show Hinder love.  They put on a great show filled with passion and great songs.  Chevelle was next, I’ve never seen Chevelle and they were one of the reasons that I wanted to attend this concert – and I was not let down.  Hoobastank was the surprise for the night, sure I like some of their songs, but they made a new fan that night.  Doug Robb and the rest of the guys knew how to control the stage and the audience – they left with the crowd (myself included) wanting more.  I actually got goose-bumps while they played “The Reason” – which was very unexpected.  Then Nickelback hit the stage with a giant uproar from the crowd.  This was my fourth time seeing them, and they were at their best.  I’ve never seen them in an arena, they were always in clubs or bars… so it was nice to see how much they’ve changed over the years.  But seriously, if you don't know any of these bands... you need to check them out.

30 Seconds To Mars / NeedToBreathe
(Off The Wagon - Montgomery, AL)
October 16, 2005

Simply amazing.  First, NeedToBreathe hit the stage and warmed up the crowd with their great new sound.  This South Carolina band was just signed to Atlantic Records - now I see what Atlantic saw in them.  They had great energy and great potential.  Look for their CD to be released early next year.  After waiting a while for 30 Seconds to hit the stage - they finally came out to a very anxious crowd.  This band has a huge stage presence and even bigger songs.  Jared knew exactly what to do to get the audience on their feet.  This was a great show - don't miss your chance to see both of these bands in concert while you can.

Todd Glass
(StarDome - Birmingham, AL)
April  2005

Todd Glass was featured on NBC's reality show - "Last Comic Standing".  When the show was over Todd wasn't the winner, but I thought he deserved it more than anyone else.  He is even funnier in person.  Todd will have you laughing the whole show.  Very funny....

Metallica / Godsmack
(Fargodome - Fargo, ND)
August 17, 2004

Although Metallica has been out since the beginning of time - this was my first time seeing them.  I thought it was a very powerful show.  Even though I wish they'd play more of their older material.  I'm not a huge fan of their newer songs, but they only played a certain few to keep the crowd wanting more.

Jack's Mannequin
(Sloss Furnace - Birmingham, AL)
August 04, 2006

Let me start off by talking a little about the venue.  Sloss Fernaces is a national historic landmark in Birmingham, Alabama... built in 1881 and 1882.  It's a terrific location for a concert, a venue that gives you an eerie feeling just by looking at it.  Ok, now let's talk about the crowd that showed up for the Jack's Mannequin and O.A.R. concert.  The audience was filled with girls, preps, a few hippies, jocks, and more girls... should I say more?  But I'm sure they felt right at home by the warm reaction the crowd game them that night, they were singing along... cheering... clapping... screaming... every element that creates a great crowd for any band.  I love how they incorporated the piano into the modern day rock, that's a raritiy in rock music today.  Andrew McMahon, the lead singer, did a remarkable job on the piano and his vocals were right on target the entire night.  I'm sure they made a few new fans that night, I hope to see them in Birmingham again soon.

Duncan Sheik / Griffin House / Jim Boggia
(Workplay - Birmingham, AL)
January 20, 2006

Duncan Sheik first came out with his power hit "Barely Breathing" back in 1996 - and he hasn't shown any sign of slowing down.  Duncan's voice was perfect - his band played flawlessly.  If the crowd could have been more respectful it would have been a more enjoyable show.  Ok, here's a note for all of you so called Duncan Sheik fans... please don't disrespect Duncan by screaming out songs that were on his first CD.  He's had so many great CD's that have come out since then that surpass his original CD.  Ok, enough of me venting about the crowd.  Nonetheless - the new songs worked great in the set.  I hope Duncan and his band have a chance to come back through here again soon.

Jeff Dunham
(StarDome - Birmingham, AL)
June 2005

The best comedy show I've ever seen.  Jeff had us laughing non-stop.  He is great with the crowd - sometimes you forget that the puppets aren't actually talking.  If you ever have the chance to see Jeff live - do it.

Seven Mary Three
(Minneapolis, MN)
October 2003

I first saw Seven Mary Three years ago in Tallahassee, Florida - and I wasn't that impressed.  I still loved their music, but their show left me empty.  This time was completely different.  Seven Mary Three put on a great show - and made me a fan once again!

3 Doors Down / Our Lady Peace / Seether
(Minot, ND)
July 2003

A great show.  I'm a big fan of all three bands, but I must say that Our Lady Peace stole the show.  There's just something about this band - they have a great stage presence.
