"Yeah, I want to do Encino Man 2.  It’s funny that you should ask that.  So I called those guys, Sean Astin didn’t know who I was and Brendan Frasier said he was never even in Encino Man"

One thing that came to mind when I was told to call your hotel room, what do you go by when you check into a hotel?  Do you go by your own name?

Yeah, I go by my own name.  I feel it out too, if I feel there’s like tumbleweeds flowing around the lobby and the vibe is kinda a little hasty… then I’ll switch it… just make up a name at the time.  For the most part, everyone is pretty cool.

I wanted to talk about your Showtime Special, “Vegas is My Oyster”.  What can you tell me about it?

Have you seen it yet?

I haven’t had a chance, I don’t get Showtime.  But I’m going to check it out when it airs this weekend.

It’s like the old school variety show from back in the 70’s.  It’s got girls and music… comedy.  You’ve got to look at it.  It’s always better to interview someone after you see it – because you can ask me about it.

I know, this interview was very short notice…

You’re a bad reporter, I’m just going to tell you that.  You need to be spanked.

I even tried to download it illegally just so I can see it.

No, I’m pretty excited about it.  You’ll see it.  I’m liking it.

Tell me about some of the talent and celebrities featured in it.

Well, it’s got everyone.  Andy Dick, Tom Green… the cast is on the page.

Sounds like you have a lot of wildcards in the cast, how did you keep them all in order while filming it.

That was the hardest part, actually.  You know what I mean?

Because how in the hell does someone keep someone like Andy Dick in line?

It was tough.  It was definitely tough.  It was very stressful, but Andy is an old friend of mine – and I thank him for being responsible… stepping up and being part of it.  He added tremendously to the whole thing… so.  It was stressful, I don’t know what else to say.  It was hard for me to put the whole thing together.  But I willed it and made it happen – pushed forward.  Anyone, that you’ve interviewed before… who writes, directs, produces, or stars… you just know that bad shit is going to happen in the whole process – and be ready for it… but you know at the end of the day… you’ve got to just keep flipping through it to get it done, you know?

Yeah, I love Andy… in a straight way of course.

Yeah, of course.

From what I’ve seen of it – the clips and the trailers – I think it looks great.

I’m proud of it.  I think that at the end of the day I want to do something different.

What’s the status like for the search for your assistant?

[laughs] I’m kind of in the middle of that, that’s going to be the next thing that I’ll move forward on.

Does cup size matter at all?

No, absolutely not.

And, you’re making a decision in September?  Isn’t that what I heard?

Probably late September or early October.  Did you see the website?

I did, yes.  Very cool.

So we’ll see what happens.

I also hear that you are working on some more mockumentaries.  Can you tell me anything about any of those?

I’m caught up in the middle right now of figuring out what my next thing is – I’ve got a couple of options, but I haven’t pulled the trigger on anything.  Right now, I kinda just want to talk about my special and “Will Work For Pauly”.  I think those are the two main things, you know what I mean?  To promote… and everything else is kind of slurring around.

One final question, Hollywood is all about remakes and sequels these days.  What do you think about getting back together with Sean Astin and Brendan Frasier for Encino Man 2?

Yeah, I want to do Encino Man 2.  It’s funny that you should ask that.  So I called those guys, Sean Astin didn’t know who I was and Brendan Frasier said he was never even in Encino Man.
