OmegaCon had a lot of great things to offer; celebrities, activities, food, and so much more. 

 

     OmegaCon was held in the elegant Sheraton Birmingham, we felt very welcome during the whole convention - the Sheraton employees were very pleasant to be around, and the Sheraton offered a clean location for a great convention such as OmegaCon.

 

     Each activity/area was spread out, perhaps a little too spread out.  Some locations were harder to find than others, even though things were easily labeled.  But we were able to mingle around to see nearly everthing that the convention had to offer. 

 

     Our favorite room was of course the autograph room, a great place to meet incredible actors that were so kind and courteous it was hard to believe that it was actually them.  A few of the celebrities that stood out for us were Richard Kiel (Jaws from the James Bond movies, read our interview with Richard here), Kane Hodder (Jason from the Friday the 13th movies), and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca on the Star Wars movies).  Pretty top notch list if you ask me, and this is only the first OmegaCon!  Walking into the autograph room I expected to wait in line for at least a half an hour before getting the chance to speak to any celebirty, that wasn't the case... the lines flowed easily and smoothly.

 

     The next room was a geek's dream come true, a flea market perfect for any fan boy!  Make sure to bring plenty of cash, because you will use it!  Whether it's for a rare DVD or book, or even for an autograph from the great list of celebrities... this is one place you do not want to be caught without money.

 

     Special guests from all sorts of media: Television, Film, Publications, Radio.  Art exhibits, Gaming,  Live music = a great recipe for a perfect convention!

 

     Although I had a fun time at this years Omegacon, I have to say that I hope next year is ten times better, I hope to see you there!
