Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Rating: 2.5 out of 5

Unlike the rest of the world, I have not had the opportunity (nor will) to watch, or read, anything that has to do with Harry Potter.  Recently I was given the chance to review the latest Harry Potter installment, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  Obviously, since I decided to dive into the deep end instead of testing the waters I found myself lost from the beginning.  I’m assuming that people who have seen or read the other installments know exactly what’s going on, but unfortunately I found myself trying to get involved in a movie franchise without knowing anything about the previous films.

My first reaction when viewing the movie was good and bad; the graphics are top notch, as well as most of the acting, but I found that most of the movie seemed like filler and force fed to the audience just to give fans another reason to spend money on Harry Potter – to me, the movie didn’t seem to pick up until the last twenty minutes of the film, which is never a good thing.  I really did enjoy the last few moments of the movie, I just wish the entire film grabbed my attention like the last half did.  Also, story and character development seemed non-existent, or at least very minimal, from the beginning, of course I could be missing a lot since I’m a first time viewer of the franchise.

The bottom line is; if you’re a fan of the movies you’ll probably love it – and if you’re not a fan… I wouldn’t bother with it, if you skip this movie you won’t be missing much… or at least skip to the last part, you’ll thank me when you save an hour and forty-five minutes of your life.

As harry potter begins his 6th year at hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry he discovers an old book marked mysteriously this book is the property of the half-blood prince and begins to learn more about lord voldemorts dark past.
