Flatout:
Ultimate Carnage
Microsoft Xbox 360
Rating: 9
The
highly anticipated sequel to one of the most original racing games has finally come! In case you know nothing about
the Flatout series, just imagine Burnout with no seatbelt - your character literally flies out the window when you hit objects
at a high speed or you can manually eject him in many entertaining mini games that you will only find on this game.
The
first game for the original Xbox system was fun, but never this fun. There's not much to critique about this game, it's
just like they made this game personally for me and any other fan of non-sim racing games. There's action, speed, carnage,
and a lot of crazy side-splitting mini games that you will play over and over again. The mini games include: Soccer,
Basketball, Baseball, High Jump, Darts .... and many others that allow you to eject your driver through the windshield
of your car onto the selected mini game. Very clever gameplay that really works for this game.
The
mini games are not the only attraction on the game. Included is also one of the best destruction derby modes that I've
seen on a console since Playstation's Destruction Derby over ten years ago... and it's online!
The
only flaw that I've seen in the game so far is the local multiplayer mode, you still need to switch controllers if you want
more than one person to play the mini games. Why can't they just make it so you can have multiple people controlling
their car with their own remote? But, since that is the only major drawback to this game - I highly recommend Flatout:
Ultimate Carnage!
